Sports, Games & Activities
Broadening horizons through new experiences, challenges and opportunities to shine
Our extensive school grounds, excellent facilities and experienced staff mean your child will take part in a wide range of activities both during and after their school day. With many activities timetabled as part of the curriculum, alongside a range of after school clubs from Year 1, your child can become involved in everything from football to cookery, acting or dancing to pony riding, ceramics to Lego construction.
We offer curricular and extra-curricular activities as a natural extension of the academic experience at Walhampton. Football, cricket, rounders and swimming are taught in timetabled lessons from Key Stage 1. We enjoy taking the children out, using our own minibuses to explore places of interest. In fact, our setting on the edge of the New Forest means we have wonderful opportunities for off-site learning, from museum and farm visits to pond dipping and beach combing. These trips bring an extra dimension and depth to classroom learning.
After School Club & Wraparound Care
After School club is run by our Wraparound Care Coordinator from 3.30-5.15pm every day. Many parents find this invaluable, particularly if they are working some distance away and need extra time at the end of the school day. The many options available to the children include building models, painting, listening to a story and working outside in Owl Corner. For working parents we run an optional Breakfast Club (0730-0800) which includes a nutritional breakfast, and an optional Supper Club (1715-1800) which includes a hot meal.
